About

I am a writer. It’s what I do. It is all at once the most thrilling and the most frightening thing that I do. For as long as I can remember, I have been enraptured by words… From my obsession with reading everything to do with horses or magic I could get my hands on as a child to exorcising personal demons and telling the stories of others with my pen, I have long defined myself by my relationship with words.

Stepping out of my small, west-Texas hometown and into a place I personally felt far more myself, I moved to DFW for college [TCU] where I shuffled through almost a dozen majors before finally casting off my fear of future job prospects [or the lack thereof] to focus on what “came natural” … words. I earned my degree in English with a writing emphasis along with a couple of minors [remnants of my aforementioned indecision] and went on to shuffle [once again] my way through all manner of word-related jobs.

I have written for and edited periodicals ranging in interest from the default mortgage industry to high-end decor and design to small business entrepreneurship. I have worked as a consultant for HR and employee communications. I have edited oncology and hematology continuing education materials and written SEO and deep-search web copy for dentists nationwide. I have acted as the Editorial and Creative Director for an arts-based non-profit organization. For seven years, I worked as a senior copy editor for the Dallas branch of Publicis, the second-largest marketing and advertising agency in the world. And now I am one of two Digital Content Editors working for EssilorLuxottica’s Digital Acceleration team and editing their eye and vision care website: All About Vision.

Plus, over the last 19 years, I have written and edited, run social media campaigns and creatively consulted for law firms, artists, fashion designers, non-profit groups and small businesses.

I love what I do. I am good at what I do. And I am eager to help you use your words to better say what you want the world to hear.
